If you are looking to regrow your hair you really should consider a natural alternative to all the drugs and other procedures out there. For example there are two drugs that the big pharma companies are pushing but I don't think the potential side effects really warrant the risk in using them. For example, Finasteride which is marketed as propecia is a drug that can cause birth defects in unborn children. In fact, not only are women of child bearing age not supposed to take the drug, a pregnant woman is not allowed to even touch one of the pills. This is because the active ingredients may be absorbed through the skin and this can cause defects in the baby. This doesn't sound like a very good idea to me if you are trying to get your hair to grow again.

It seems that several of the drugs and natural hair restoration products that are available have an affect on both symptoms. This means there must be some sort of a tie in and it appears as though the tie in is between the testosterone metabolite DHT and the two problems. When men take drugs or natural rememdies for prostrate problems they also have a tendency to regrow hair. This is interesting in itself but it also may give you a clue as to what natural rememdies you can take to get a benefit in your hair growth.
There also seems to be a correlation between DHT and any female hair loss treatment. Most people don't think that testosterone can affect hair loss in females because it is the male sex hormone but actually this hormone can be found in men and women. Just like estrogen is considered a female hormone but it can be found in both sexes. Increased levels of DHT seem to affect both men and women when it comes to hair loss and baldness.
